KCC squeeze into 12th Manipur Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament quarterfinals

KCC, Kongba overwhelmed BKCC, Bamon Kampu by 9 wickets in the last Group C match to squeeze into the quarterfinals of the 12th Manipur Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament this morning at Langthabal Public Ground.
BKCC opted to bat first after winning the toss but fell flat at 68 in 14.5 overs as Sanjit Sharma (4/9 in 4 overs) and Bonny (2/16 in 4 overs) wreaked havoc.
Only Wairokpam Prabinkumar 22 off 14 balls was the double digit run getter for BKCC in the first innings.
Samukcham Robertson (28 off 20 balls) and Bonny (31 not out off 22 balls) then fired KCC to the target in 7.4 overs.
Kongbrailatpam Sanjit Sharma who led the bowling attack for KCC was adjudged player of the match.
Later in a Group D match, YWC, Langthabal beat LCCC, Lilong Chajing by 6 wickets chasing down a target of 112 runs in 14.3 overs.
P Prakashmani (6/12) picked record 6 wickets to dismantle toss winners LCCC for 111 runs within 19.1 overs with the assistance of L Samananda who claimed three wickets (3/19) .
S Surjit was unbeaten on 54 off 52 balls as he ran out of partners in the face of YWC onslaught.
In reply, S Kumarjit 28, L Manaoabi 19, L Sasi 19 not out and Laishram Dinachandra 21 made fine scores to help YWC post winning 112 runs.
S Rigen, K Saphaba, Rustum and S Suraj all picked a wicket apiece for LCCC.
P Prakashmani was eventually declared man of the match.
With the end of the league round, the quarterfinal line up of the tournament was completed today.
REYS, Nagamapal will play KCC, Kongba in the first quarterfinal on March 1 before TCMDC take on LCCC in the second quarterfinal match later in the day.
