UCC beat AIFA 3-2 to seal Kakching 1st Divn Football League title

Imphal, October 25 2025: UCC, Kakching beat AIFA, Irengband in a five goal thriller to seal the title of the 21st KK Memorial 1st Division Football League 2025-26 organised by the District Sports Association, Kakching at its ground.

Both UCC and AIFA had fair share of chances to win the title having secured two successive wins in the semifinal league round, but Nobinchandra's stoppage time goal helped UCC finish on top and earn the league title.

The result also meant that UCC will play in the Kakching district's Super Division Football League next season.

UCC, who had earlier finished Group B winners in the league stage, enjoyed an early lead as M Nobinchandra drew first blood in the 6th minute before M Devaraj doubled the advantage in the 29th minute.

AIFA fought back and pulled back a goal through Kh Johnson in the 31st minute to make it 1-2 at halftime.

Both sides toiled hard to add to their tally after the restart and to AIFA's delight, K Johnson scored in the 81st minute to bring his team back into contention.

M Nobinchandra however shattered AIFA's title hopes as he scored the winner for UCC 1 minute into the stoppage time.

Winners, UCC and runners up and best disciplined team, AIFA were felicitated during the valedictory function held this evening alongside other individual prize winners including- Alex of UCC (best goalkeeper), John Kenedy of UBSA (best defender), Theophilus of AIFA (best midfielder), and M Debaraj of UCC (highest scorer and best player of the tournament) .
