16th KIWT 2020: Ward No 14, 13, 8 win in football, Ward No 3, 9, 12(A), 14 win in volleyball

Kangpokpi, January 23 2020: Ward No 14 in under-13 category and Ward No 13 and Ward No 8 in the main football category won their respective matches of the ongoing 16th Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament 2020 at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi DHQs today.

In the morning match of under-13 category, Ward No 14 had a narrow 2-1 win against Ward No 13 to book a berth in the semi-final with Ward No 1 on January 28.Lalboilun (26th) and Manggougun (46th) scored for Ward No 14 while Thangminlal (54th) scored for Ward No 13.In the main category, Ward No 13 had an easy 3-0 win against Ward No 2(B) in the first match with goals through Thanggoulal (10th), Paolalngaisang (19th) and Lalchunglen (26th) to become Pool-B runner while in the last main football match, Ward No 8 overwhelmed Ward No 12 by 3-1 to become Pool-B winner.

Vumminlen scored treble for Ward No 8 in the 7th, 21st and 26th minute while Seiminlal scored the only goal of Ward No 12 in the 28th minute.

Volleyball
In women's volleyball, Ward No 12(A) defeated Ward No 1 25-19, 25-17 in the first match before Ward No 14 defeated Ward No 5&6 25-9, 25-18.In men's volleyball, Ward No 3 defeated Ward No 13, 25-20, 25-16 before Ward No 9 defeated Ward No 7, 25-20, 22-25, 25-17 .

Tomorrow's under-13 semi-final match between Ward No 3 and 14 has been postponed to January 27 .
