67th State Veteran Badminton Championship : S Ningthoujao, Ksh Devjeet win 35+, 40+ singles titles

Imphal, February 22 2025: Sanjenbam Ningthoujao and Kshetrimayum Devjeet respectively emerged the singles champions in the 35+ and 40+ categories of the 67th State Veteran Badminton Championship organised by Manipur Badminton Association at Indoor Stadium, DM University campus.

Ningthoujao won the 35+ singles title beating Leishangthem Dinesh 21-17, 21-16 while Ksh Devjeet beat Akoijam Pradip Kumar 21-4, 21-2 to seal the 40+ singles title.

Lukram Ramesh in the meantime claimed the 45+ singles title with an easy 21-8, 21-13 win over Pukhrambam Krishnakumar today as Heny Luny won the 55+ singles title with a 21-8, 21-11 win over Ha Vareishang in the final and W Amusana took the 60+ singles title with a 21-10, 21-8 win over Thongam Ibotomba.

Men's singles title for 65+ category meanwhile went to Saikhom Jatra who beat Arambam Sunitikumar 13-21, 21-12, 21-15 in a keenly contested final match.

Ningthoujao also went on to win the 35+ doubles crown with Konthoujam Thomas as they beat H Kishan and Hmangte Sarjan Kom 21-13, 8-21, 21-14 in the final.

Ksh Devjeet too walked away with the 40+ doubles title by combining with Toijam Romen to beat Akoijam Pradip Kumar and Akoijam Bonny 21-15, 21-19 in the final.

Lukhram Ramesh and Laishram Krishnakumar also won the 45+ men's doubles title beat P Krishnakumar and P Romesh 21-10, 21-9 as M Romesh and M Somen won the 55+ doubles title beating RK Robinsana and T Brojen 21-16, 21-16 .

Toijam Nimai and W Amusana meanwhile sealed the men's doubles title for 60+ category with a 21-19, 21-9 win over Akoijam Brojen and Thingujam Roben in the final.

Earlier, Chingshubam Bimol and Leishangthem Kumar bagged the men's 65+ doubles title beating Kh Shyamkanhai and W Chandrakumar in the final match.
