30-member State Armwrestling team named

Imphal, June 21 2025: The Manipur Armwrestling Association has announced a 30-memberteam forthe ensuing National Armwrestling and Para Armwrestling Championship 2025 to be held from June 28 to July 2 at VKN Menon Indoor Stadium, Thrissur, Kerala.

The athletes who were shortlisted from among the podium finishers of the 39th State Armwrestling Championship 2025 held at UYO Community Hall, Singjamei Bheigyabati Leikai in January last include the following.

Sub-Junior: Yumnam Chingkhei (-50 kg both hands), Laikhuram Davidson (-50 kg both hands), Warepam Tejmani (-55 kg both hands), Yaithengbam Rajkumar (-55 kg both hands), Khomdram Harison (-60 kg right hand), Lourembam Malemnganba (-60 kg right hand), Maibam Gokul (-65 kg both hands), Khangenbam Chingkheinganba (-65 kg both hands), Yumnam Surjit (-70 kg both hands), Thounaojam Nicholas (-70 kg both hands) and Mayanglambam Lanchenbi Chanu (-50 kg both hands);
Junior: Oinam Gunan (-55 kg left hand), Thokchom Aditya (-55 kg right hand), Wanglembam Ashajit (-55 kg both hands), Moirangthem Malemnganba (-60 kg left hand), Chonchonbam Bikash (-60 kg both hands), Nameirakpam Yaiphaba (-60 kg right hand), RK Ajhalajit (-65 kg left hand), Kangjam Chingkhieinganba (-65 kg right hand), Amom Lankhomba (-65 kg both hands), Thounaojam Malemnganba (-75 kg right hand) and Hemam Abungo (-80 kg both hands);
Youth: Khuraijam Thomas (-55 kg right hand), Waikhom Sheityam (-65 kg right hand), Yumnam Lanchenba (-65 kg both hands);
Senior: Oinam Gunan (-55 kg both hands), Wanglembam Ashajit (-55 kg both hands), Moirangthem Malemnganba (-60 kg left hand), RK Ajhaljit (-65 kg left hand);
G Master: Kumam Shyamkeshor (-70 kg both hands) .

Kumam Shyamkeshor will be captaining the team coached by L Chitreshwor and managed by K Saratchandra.

They will leave for the venue by air on June 27 and return on July 2, said the Manipur Armwrestling Association in a statement.
