DDK Imphal, AIR Imphal host "Sundays on Cycle Rally"

Imphal, September 20 2026: Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Imphal and All India Radio (AIR) Imphal today co-hosted a "Sundays on Cycle Rally" as held regularly across the Nation as a part of the "Fit India Movement" launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The 21km rally that was held under the banner "Media for Fitness", was flagged off from SAI NERC Imphal's old MP Hall by Nongmaithem Nandakumar, IIS, Director (E) and HOO AIR Imphal as chief guest.

Speaking on the sidelines, N Nandakumar said that efforts are underway to upload traditional games on Youtube and popularize them across the globe.

Besides the indigenous games and sports, traditional cultural elements including musical instruments like Pena will also be popularised using available platforms, he added.

Konjengbam Sonikumar, IIS, Head of News (RNU), AIR Imphal also attended the event as guest of honour and Laishram Samritya Singha, Assistant Director SAI NERC Imphal as functional president.
