Organising committee formed as DOA Thoubal gears up to host 1st District Olympic Games

Imphal, August 20 2025: An organising committee has been successfully formed as District Olympic Association (DOA) Thoubal looks forward to successfully hosting the Ist District Olympic Games 2025-26 from September 24 to 28 .

The committee for the event that will be organised at various grounds and venues under the supervision of the Manipur Olympic Association was formed with DC Thoubal, Hanna Kahmei as the chairman today at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal.

The committee that will oversee the effective and smooth organization of the games was formed during a meet attended by representatives of district sports associations, organisations, senior sports sympathisers and other institutions, said DOA Thoubal in a press release.

Further, M Mani, president of DOA Thoubal, was named working chairman of the committee; M Madhusudon as the organising secretary; Shivananda Surve, Senior SP as vice chairman alongside others, it said.

The event is aiming to bring together around 2000 athletes representing various Government Departments, NGOs, business fraternities, educational institutions, it added.

Furthermore, a Technical Conduct Committee has also been formed with DYASO Thoubal Moirangthem Deven as the chairman, it added.

DOA Thoubal also sought co-operation and support from all sectors of the society to make the games featuring 20 sports disciplines a successful one.
