SSU, RAU triumph as DMRAO hold AFA in 2nd Premier League

SSU and RAU claimed crucial victories, while DM-RAO and Asufii FA shared the points in Friday's 2nd Premier League clashes at the Sekmai Koujengleima Ground.
In a thrilling Group A encounter, Laishram Roshan and Naorem Kishan each scored twice to steer SSU to a 4-2 win over IYFC.
Roshan gave SSU an early lead, finding the net just two minutes into the match.
However, Shougaijam Malemnganba pulled IYFC level in the 14th minute, only for Kishan to restore SSU's advantage with a 24th-minute strike.
IYFC demonstrated resilience when Suraj Wangkhem netted deep into first-half stoppage time (45+3'), ensuring the sides entered the interval level.
However, SSU regained control in the second period, with Kishan completing his double in the 75th minute before Roshan sealed the points with an 88th-minute clincher.
SSU maintained their composure in the closing stages to secure a well-earned win.
The day's other Group A
fixture saw RAU secure a hard-fought 1-0 win over WFA.
In a match of few clear chances, Muhammad Sohail proved the difference-maker, breaking the deadlock in the 34th minute with a precise finish.
RAU's disciplined defensive performance thereafter ensured they maintained their slender advantage to claim maximum points.
Group B's encounter between Asufii FA and DMRAO finished honours even at 1-1 .
Asufii FA took command in the first half through Shital Oinam's 30th-minute opener, but DMRAO improved markedly after the interval.
Their persistence was rewarded in the 64th minute when Ngang-bam Telheiba converted decisively to secure a valuable point for his side.
