AOZ Wheelchair Basketball C'ship : State trio make it to women's National squad, WBAM rejoices

Imphal, September 19 2025: In a proud moment for Manipur, three players and one coach have been named in the National women ' s team as announced by the Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India for the Asia Oceania Zone Championship to be hosted in Bangkok from November 5 to 15 .

Chakpram Lokeshwori from Singjamei, Irengbam Ritu from Irengbam and Maimom Gunibala from Haorang Khunou are among the State players who were selected for the National team following their runners up finish at the 9th National Wheelchair Basketball Championship held recently.

State coach Md Yunus Khan has also been named as the assistant coach for the National team, said Wheelchair Basketball Association Manipur in a press release.

The association extended its greetings to the players and the coach on their selection in the National team and called upon all to join in supporting and encouraging them ahead of the AOZ Championship and the pre championship camp to be held from October 14 to 30 at Visakhapatnam.
