SRBA-Acrowned overall team champions of 3rd IW District Boxing Championship

Imphal, May 18 2025: SRBA-A were crowned the overall team champions of the 3rd Imphal West District Boxing Championship 2025 that concluded today at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

SRBA-A registered 28 points to top the tally as NSA finished team runners up on 13 points.

Thoudam Santosh of SRBA-A (U-15 Boys' 33 kg) and Heikham Riya (U-17 Girls' 50 kg) were meanwhile named as best promising boxers.

Final day action

Khwairakpam Nelson sealed the U-15 Boys' 55 kg category and best boxer titles in the 3rd Imphal West District Boxing Championship 2025 that concluded today.

Khwairakpam Nelson of NSA defeated Thoudam Nicholas of MKBA in the final to win the top honour.

Thoudam Nicholas was adjudged best challenger of the championship.

U-15 Boys' 46 kg category title meanwhile went to Akham Bishorjit of IND who overcame Naorem Chinglemba of STC-Utlou in the final as Huidrom Malem of SRBA-A beat NSA's Fajaba Naorem to fetch the 43 kg category title and Thoudam Santosh of SRBA-A beat Athokpam Inunganba of MKBA for the 33 kg category title.

Kishan Ningthoujam (49 kg) of STC-Utlou and Wahengbam Wakheiba (52 kg) of SRBA-A meanwhile sealed titles via walkover wins in the final bouts.

Meanwhile, MKBA's Soram Luwangleima beat Shamjetsabam Rejiya of NSA to clinch the U-19 Girls' 51 kg title.

Luwangleima was also adjudged best boxer as Rejiya was declared best challenger.

Riya Heikham of STC-Imphal meanwhile earned the U-17 Girls' 50 kg title beating Pukhrambam Lanthoi of NSA in the final as Phuritsabam Renuka of STC-Imphal and Lairen Sujen of SRBA-A earned U-19 Girls' 48 kg and U-17 Girls' 52 kg crowns via walkover wins.

The championship was organised by the Imphal West Amateur Boxing Association under the aegis of the Manipur Amateur Boxing Association.
