Bishnupur, May 17 2026: Oinam Nongpoknganba, who bagged a bronze medal in the recently concluded U15 Asian Boxing Championship, was accorded a warmed felicitation today at Oinam Mayai Leikai Community Hall by Tangleihada Shapers Club, Oinam and Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Oinam.

Oinam Nongpoknganba settled for a bronze medal at the championship that was held from May 1 to 16 at Tashkent in the U15 boys' 46 kg category competition after a hard-fought 2:3 split-decision loss to Uzbekistan's Mansur Abdukhamitov in the semi-finals.

Dignitaries and sports enthusiasts of Oinam presented various presents to the young boxing prodigy from Oinam Mayai Leikai.

He is the son of Oinam Gopeshwor Meitei and Oinam ongbi Tongbram Ningol Sushila Leima and currently trains at SAI centre Utlou under coach Ajay Dhamiwal from Haryana.
