Model and YWC will clash final

Imphal, March 17 2015: Traditional power house of Manipur cricket Model Club Chingamakha and YWC Langthabal will lock horns for Hercules Cup T 20 on March 21 .

In the first semi final match between Al-Amin and Model Club, Al-Amin invited Model Club to bat after winning the toss.

The decision of Al-Amin captained backfired when Iboyaima led from the front for 45 from 33 balls.

On the platform set by Iboyaima Viking blasted 37 off 17 balls and sent Al-Amin players to leather hunting in all directions of the ground.

Sanjoy rounded off the hammering with 30 from 15 balls.

At the end first innings Model had scored a mammoth score of 174 by losing 6 wickets.

Arish bore the maximum burn of Models thrashing and gave away 56 runs and accounted one wicket.

Noushad also gave away 31 runs for 1 wicket.

Habibulah and Anish were the successful bowlers of Al-Amin and they accounted 2 wickets each.

Al-Amin started their run chase in right earnest and tried to keep the asking rate under control.

Nawaz scored 32 off 25 balls while Tipu raced to 15 runs from 11 runs but wickets keep on falling at regular interval.

Model bowlers did not give any room to Al-Amin batsmen to extend their arms and all the batsmen were sent to the pavilion by 18.2 overs when the score board reads 120 .

Bishorjit was the picked of the Model bowlers with 3 wickets while Bijoy returned with 2 wickets.

Mangi and Iboyaimai claimed 1 wicket each.

Model Clubs all round performance with bat and ball comfortably won the match by 54 runs and a place in the final.

In a similar fashion, YWC Langthabal elected to bat after winning the toss and came out to bat with intent.

Prafullo continued from what he left in last league match and plundered PTRC bowlers for 140 runs from 55 balls.

Prafullo consolidated one end do the bulk of scoring.

Other batsmen of YWC were more than happy to give him the strike.

In the process Prasanta score 31 off 21 balls and Jiko also contributed 31 runs from 24 balls.

The extraordinary batting performance of Prafullo help YWC is posting an impossible target of 232 for PTRC.

PTRC wilted under the mountain of runs and could score 120 and all the batsmen returned to the pavilion will in 20 overs.

YWC won the match by huge margin of 112 runs and make themselves one the favourites to lift the Hercules Cup against Model Club.
