Governors Cup Invitational Polo Tournament : NMPC and KNMMRS enters Quarter final

Nambul Mapal Polo Club (NMPC) overcame stiff challenge from Manipur Police Polo Club �C (MPPC) by 7-6 score line and marched into the quarter final of 25th Governors Cup Invitational Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung on Tuesday.
In an evenly contested mach, Manipur Police Polo Club �C (MPPC) players settled down quickly and fired in 4 goals, three from S Binoy and one from S Viking, and take early command of the match with 4-0 in the first chukker.
M Kumarjit added one more goal to increase the lead for MPCC but O Suresh reduced the margin by scoring the first goal for NMPC.

At the end of second chukker MPPC maintained a healthy lead of 5-1 .
Viking scored another goal to take personal tally to 2 and provide a healthy lead to MPCC.
NMPC players pushed hard to reduced the margin and were successful when Suresh scored two more goals.
When both teams ended third chukker the score line reads 6-3 in favour of MPCC.
NMPC show greater urgency to stay in the competition in the final chukker and roamed in three goals, two goals by M Tarun and one by O Suresh.
Both the teams ended in even score at 6-6 at the conclusion of the match.
One chukker was added, as sudden death, to decide the winner.
Tarun carried the confidence gained in the fourth chukker and scored the deciding goal to the dismay of MPCC.
The goal of Tarun ensured victory for NPPC and a place in quarter final.
In the second match, KNMM Rising School (KNNMRS) clashed with Tekcham Polo Club (TPC).
The match maintained the same intensity set by the previous match with both teams trying to control the match.
First chukker was evenly contested and no goals could be scored.
The ensuing chukker break the death lock when both team fires in one gaol each.
The parity was maintained till the end of third chukker and both teams were locked at 1-1.The performance of the both teams kept the capacity crowd fixed to their seat and they happily expand their vocal cord.
With the crowd cheering both the teams, M James of KNNMRS used all his experience and pumped in three quick goals, leaving TPC breathless.
The performance of James helped KNNMRS in securing a place in the quarter final with 4-1 score.
In the quarter final, Nambul Mapal Polo Club will lock horns with Ibodhu Thangjing Polo Club while KNNMRS will faced Khurai Polo Club to stay in the competition.
