Ranji Trophy Plate Group: Meghalaya post 359/5 at stumps on Day 1

Visitors Meghalaya were 359/5 at stumps on Day 1 (90 overs) against hosts Manipur in their final Ranji Trophy Plate Group tie at CK Pithawala Ground, Surat in Gujarat.
After opting to bat first, Meghalaya had a steady start and saw the opening partners of Bonchang Sangma and Arpit Subhas forging 61 runs off 103 balls until Bonchang was caught and bowled by L Ajay Singh on 31 off 56 for the first wicket in the 1st delivery of the 18th over.
Ajay also trapped Arpit Subhas lbw for the second wicket in the 2nd delivery of the 24th over.
Meghalaya further slumped to 74/3 after 27.2 overs with L Kishan Singha bowling out skipper Kishan Lyndoh on 6 .
Guest players Rahul Dalal and Ajay Duhan, however, took on the Manipuri bowlers to breathe life into the innings and stitched together a remarkable 247-run partnership off 289 balls until Ng Johnson came late to undone Rahul Dalal on 146-ball 151 (23 fours and 3 sixes).
Ajay, who played the second fiddle with Rahul also went on to score his century before Johnson bowled him out on 102 (off 184 balls; 13 fours) for the fifth wicket.
Swastic 14 and Kush Agarwal 18 were unbeaten as they closed out the day at 359/5 .
