Imphal, May 16 2026: Khongman Fencing Academy (KFA), Khongman are on the brink of securing the title of the 4th Imphal East District Fencing Championship, 2026-27 being underway at Khuman Lampak Fencing Hall.

By Day 3 of the tournament, KFA had amassed 8 gold, 6 silver, and 8 bronze medals, maintaining a clear 11-point lead over its closest contender, POLOI, Chingarel Tejpur, which had secured 4 gold, 9 silver, and 8 bronze medals.

YDO, Kongba Nandeibam Makha Leikai are meanwhile one point behind POLOI having secured 7 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze medals.

The day witnessed YDO securing 3 gold medals in Cadet category competitions as KFA and POLOI shared a gold medal apiece.

A Henthoisana bagged a gold medal for KFA in the boys' Foil event by defeating POLOI's Lamyanba K in the final.

In the boys' Epee competition, T Kadamba of YDO clinched the gold medal by defeating POLOI's H Nelson in the title clash as L Deepu of YDO and Th Jaceyon of KFA settled for the bronze medals.

In the Cadet girls' Foil event, YDO's Ng Merina sealed the gold medal by defeating Ch Puspa of KFA in the final.

Piyanganbi N of POLOI meanwhile earned the gold medal in the girls' Epee event by defeating compatriot G Keniya in the final.

SomikaTh of YDO, meanwhile, picked the Cadet girls' Sabre gold medal by defeating Florina of POLOI in the final as K Yaipharembi of MIISIKHOL and Payal N of KHSC had to content with the bronze medals.
