18th Manipur State League : USA thump NACO 2-0 for third straight win, MPSC hold TRUGPU

Imphal, January 16 2026: USA, Khurai beat NACO 2-0 for the third straight Group A victory in the 18th Manipur State League being organised by the All Manipur Football Association at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

Coming off from a commanding 6-0 win over XI Star SU, USA raced to an early lead as Keisham Dingkal stunned NACO defence two minutes into the game before Thoudam Pravash doubled the advantage in the added time of the first half (45+2') .

The second half saw USA putting in efforts to extend their lead while NACO toiled hard to reduce the margin while keeping their citadel intact.

With no efforts from both the ends coming to fruition, USA walked away 2-0 winners.

In the Group C match staged earlier in the day, MPSC fought back twice to hold TRUGPU, Nambol to a 2-2 draw.

TRUGPU, who posted a slender 1-0 win over Utlou FC in their first outing, went ahead within 15 minutes with Md Ajamari finding the target but MPSC made sure they enter the break with score levelled on 1-1 courtesy of Akbar Khan's goal two minutes into the added time (45+2').After a series of exchanges, TRUGPU re-established their lead through Salam Mayananda in the 82nd minute.

TRUGPU almost registered their second straight win but Yumnam Mahesh who subbed-in for Th Khamboy Kom after 62 minutes salvaged the draw for MPSC 1 minute into the stoppage time (90+1') .

XI Star SU will play YOSC, Khurai tomorrow in the next match (Group A) from 11.30 am before NMFA take on FC Kumbi in a Group B match later in the day from 1.45 pm .
