ESU, LMYVA victorious as 25th State Senior Men's Basketball Championship kicks off

Imphal, November 10 2025: ESU, Wangkhei and LMYVA, Lalambung Makhong emerged victorious as 25th State Senior Men's Basketball Championship kicked off at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court under the aegis of the Manipur Basketball Association.

As many as 11 teams clubbed into two groups are participating in the men's tournament.

In the opening match (Group B), ESU beat NSU, Imphal by 89-73 points.

Th Newton led the scoring for ESU adding 22 points as Tyrese (19 pts), GA Bash (16 pts), Y Kaashper (14 pts), H Rishikanta (13 pts) and L Boi (5 points) followed suit to amass 89 points.

For NSU, Vishal Kumar scored the match's highest score of 28 points alone followed by KT Benedict (13 pts), Wormathing (12 pts), Anurag Tanwar (10 pts), J Vishwanathan (6 pts), and Akash Tudu (4 pts) .

Later in the second match (Group B), LMYVA registered an 89-81 win over YOSC, Khurai.

M Lanchenba starred in the match scoring 32 points alone including 5 maximums as H Daniel collected 22 points, L Rahul added 15 points, N Pranit added 13 points and Yaiphaba Sapam added 5 points.

Meanwhile, Vishal topscored for YOSC adding 35 points alone as Urika 16 pts and Arun 15 gathered 31 points alone.

Asif (8 pts), Luchi (5 pts), and Seenhen (2 pts) were also on target for YOSC .
