9th MNCA Elite Tournament : PTRC overwhelm KCC by 116 runs to script their sixth win on trot

Rohit Singh's fight 75 not out for KCC, Kongba Bazar in vain as PTRC, Patsoi Part IV notched up a huge 116-run victory in the 9th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2024-25 .
Notably, this win at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal was the sixth straight victory for the star studded Patsoi side.
PTRC, who are in red hot form this season, won the toss and opted to bat first.
Riding on half centuries from Ngariyanbam Jameson (58 off 72 balls) and Khagembam Santosh (57 off 54 balls), they were able to rack up 277 for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 40 overs.

PTRC bowlers then produced frugal bowling performances to restrict KCC to 161/8 in the chase despite Rohit Singh anchoring with an unbeaten 75 off 93 balls.
Earlier in the first innings, Chingakham Bidash also smacked a quickfire 45 off 28 balls while RK Rex 26, Ngariyanbam Johnson 23 and Loitongbam Shitaljit 21 made double digit contributions even as Janab (4/55 in 8 overs) and Sunil Salam (3/48 in 8 overs) succeeded in disrupting the flow of the PTRC batters by sharing 7 wickets between them.
For PTRC, Tamarland Pheiroijam returned with the best bowling figures of 3/35 in his spell of 8 wickets as five others picked a wicket apiece to keep KCC batters under pressure throughout the innings.
Kh Santosh who hit 57 off 54 balls was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground, CYCLONE, Thangmeiband had their fourth straight win after their opening game debacle by registering a narrow 5-run victory over CHAMP Cricket Club, Khagempalli.
Put in to bat first, CYCLONE were bundled out for 190 runs in 39 overs but successfully defended their total by bowling out CHAMP for 185 runs in 39.3 overs in a last over thriller.
Md Sultan Karim (4/47), Chingakham Ranjan (2/24) and Md Babu (2/36) shared 8 wickets in the first innings to dismantle CYCLONE for 190 runs.
Nongthombam Denin scored the highest 43 for CYCLONE while Kishan Laishram added 32 .
Chasing 191 for the win, CHAMP had a wobbly start and were reduced to 79/5 in 18.3 overs as Loktongbam Santosh and Nongthombam Denin combined well.
Samir and Md Ahsanul Kabir gave CHAMP some respite by adding together 70 runs off 82 balls for the 6th wicket but Kishan Laishram broke the partnership by removing Samir on 83 (off 80 balls) to set up the gradual collapse.
L Santosh returned with the best bowling figures of 4/32 for CYCLONE as Nongthombam Denin finished with 3/30 .
L Santosh was eventually adjudged player of the match.
