Department of Education (S) conducts 11th State Level Yoga Olympiad-2026

The 11th State Level Yoga Olympiad-2026 organised by the Department of Education (School) came to a close today at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium, Imphal.
The competition brought together 110 young yoga athletes from across 14 educational zones of the State.
They competed for top honours in four categories (Upper Primary Level and Secondary Level for both the boys and girls).
Following the competition, top four athletes in all the categories were also selected to represent Manipur in the 11th National Yoga Olympiad-2026, to be organised by the NCERT, New Delhi from June 15 to 18 .

The athletes who gave stood out performance to secure top positions are as follows.
Upper Primary Level (Boys) : Gyaneshor Leitanthem (Class VII) of Phdijing No 6 Jr H/S, Bishnupur district secured the pole position in the category followed by Laishram Herison (Class VI) of Cosmopolitan H/S, Imphal East; Thiyam Tomba (VII) of Ram Lal Paul Hr Sec School, Imphal West ; and Labuktongbam Leonel Sharma (VIII) of Wangkhei H/S, Imphal East in the second, third and fourth places.
Upper Primary Level (Girls) : Leimapokpam Victoria Chanu (Class VEH) of L Dhananjoy H/S, Bishnupur emerged on top of the category as Irengbam Jenika Devi (Class VIII) of Khundrakpam Model H/S, Imphal East finished second.
Kangujam Malemnganbi Chanu (Class VIII) of L Dhananjoy H/S, meanwhile, finished third while Nirota Soram (Class VIII) of Khundrakpam H/S was placed fourth.
Secondary Level (Boys) : Mahesh Irengbam (Class X) of Khundrakpam Model H/S topped the category as Chingakham Thouba (Class X) and Laikhuram Krishna (Class X) of Lilashing Khongnangkhong H/S, Imphal West made 2-3 podium finishes.
Pukhrambam Bony (Class X) of Malom Megha H/S, Wangoi Zone finished fourth in this category.
Secondary Level (Girls) : Leimapokpam Sanathoi Chanu (Class X) of Leimapokpam Govt Public H/S, Bishnupur sealed the pole position in this category as Valentina Laishram (Class X) of Khurai Popular H/S, Imphal East; Phurailatpam Olivia (Class EX) of Malom Megha H/S and Rajkumari Roshni Devi (Class X) of Khundrakpam Model H/S secured the second, third and fourth positions respectively.
