PTCC, ESU, PCC and RCA advance to 3rd MNCA U-19 Men's One Day Trophy quarterfinals

Imphal, May 09 2025: PTCC, Patsoi Part III; ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound; PCC, Mayaikoibi and RCA, Lilong all advanced to the quarterfinals of the 3rd MNCA U-19 Men's One Day Trophy.

At Lairenjam Public Ground, PTCC defeated Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha by 34 runs in a rain curtailed match.

PTCC had added 197 runs for all wickets down in 39.3 overs before rain interrupted the match and reduced the target to 154 in 26 overs via DLS method.

Model Club however slumped to 119/10 in 20.5 overs despite Ningombam Bishal's leading half century knock.

PTCC had a slow start to their innings adding only 23 runs in the first 8 overs with the loss of 1 wicket.

Wickets kept falling regularly despite efforts from Dhirendrakishore's 39-ball 29 and the team were reduced to 95/5 in 23.2 overs as Irungbam Tonton swept the third, fourth and fifth wickets before Roneljit 28 off 26 balls and Loukrakpam Anao 56 off 55 balls tried their best to steady the innings help PTCC post 197 in 39.3 overs.

Tonton returned with the best bowling figures of 3/47 for Model Club as Bisai, Biyon, Yaioiba and Rodick picked a wicket apiece.

Chasing 154 for the win, Akash Meikam 30 off 29 balls gave Model Club a fighting start before Bisai took the batting charge and anchored with a 55-ball 56 before he was dismissed for the 10th wicket in the fifth delivery of the 21st over as the scoreboard read 119.Ningombam Langamba (3/ 22 in 3.5 overs) was the wrecker in chief for PTCC today as Tongbram Devas (2/ 29), Ningombam Roberson (2/8) and Naorem Dhirendrakishore (2/24) shared 6 wickets to cut short the Model Club's innings.

Dhirendrakishore who added 29 runs and picked two wickets was adjudged player of the match.

ESU outlast Blue Hawk by 5 wickets

Meanwhile, ESU outlasted Blue Hawk, Khurai by 5 wickets in a competitive prequarterfinal match here at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong.

Blue Hawk opted to bat first but were dismissed for 170 runs in 37.2 overs despite Khunjamayum Nongdamba's 53-ball 45; Wangmayum Farid's 46-ball 34 and Seram Nandakishore's 30-ball 27 as Khundrakpam Bishomcha (3/25), Thokchom Simesh (3/39) and Hanjabam Naoba (3/26) proved dangerous with the ball.

Chasing 171 for the victory, ESU had a shaky start and were reduced to 86/4 in 15.2 overs but Sandham Abhinash and Akoijam Sangba 30 off 48 balls forged a 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket to keep the team in contention.

Abhinash held on and anchored with an unbeaten 44 off 95 balls to take the team to winning 173/5 with Hanjabam Naoba 18 off 25.Nameirakpam Lelil (3/15) and Wangmayum Farid (2/19) shared the five wickets for ESU.

H Naoba Sharma who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged player of the match.

Lucky Thokchom guides PCC to 91-run victory against CYCLONE

At Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, PCC notched up a commanding 91-run victory against CYCLONE, Thangmeiband to progress into the quarterfinals.

Thokchom Lucky (61 off 47 balls; 7 fours and 3 sixes) and Wairokpam Max (59 off 49; 6 fours and 3 sixes) scored half centuries to inspire PCC a competitive total of 259 runs for all wickets down in 36.3 overs after CYCLONE opted to bowl first.

Chasing 259 for the victory, CYCLONE were bundled out for I48 runs in 28.3 overs despite commendable knocks from Sougaijam Robinson 55 off 63 (9 fours) and Moirangthem Thomsan (45 off 56) as Mairembam Lucky (4/19 in 6 overs) and Th Lucky (2/29 in 5.3 overs) combined well to dismantle their line up.

Lucky was eventually declared man of the match.

Naesh Hussain fashions RCA 313-run victory

Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal, RCA overwhelmed SHADOW Thangmeiband by 313 runs to cruise into quarterfinals courtesy of Naesh Hussain allround show.

Put in to bat first, RCA amassed a commanding total of 383 runs for all wickets down in 37.5 overs after being put in to bat first before they bundled out SHADOW for 70 runs in 19.1 overs.

RCA amassed the huge total even as they suffered early setbacks and were reduced to 29/3 in 4.5 overs as Sagatpam Lanchenba gave early jitters but Md Samir and Naesh Hussain racked up 172-run partnership for the third wicket to take RCA past the 200-run mark before Samir holed out to Tomthinganba on 53 off 57 balls.

Naesh held on to toy around the SHADOW bowlers to complete 101 off 41 balls before he was undone by Thoudam Lanchenba for the 6th wicket at 246.Zuned then carried forward the scoring with a quickfire 84 off 31 balls before he was caught and bowled by S Lanchenba for the 8th wicket at 372.At the close of the innings, Lanchenba returned with the best bowling figures of 4/41 in his spell as Telheiba finished with 3/79 in 6 overs.

RCA bowlers however overhauled the performances of SHADOW bowlers and dismissed SHADOW for the paltry score of 70 runs as Naesh claimed four early wickets to finish with the best figures of 4/14 in 8 overs while Farhan Ahmed (3/17) and Zuned (2/33) shared five wickets.

Naesh was eventually adjudged player of the match.
