5th Hill Districts Sports Meet: DSA Sadar Hills, CCpur, Ukl, Spt enter last four of men's football

Kangpokpi, July 04 2019: DSA Sadar Hills, Ccpur, Ukhrul, Senapati have entered men's football semi-final while DSA Sadar Hills, Chandel, Ukhrul, Senapati will battle it out in women's volleyball semi-final at the ongoing 5th Hill Districts Sports Meet, played at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi DHQs.

The men's football tourney conducted by All Manipur Football Association officials such as Y Yaima Singh, Match Commissioner, W Springson, T Hemanta, RK Angousana and Ph Lanthoiba witnessed DSA Sadar Hills, DSA Churachandpur, DSA Ukhrul and DSA Senapati in the fray for the semifinals event tomorrow while DSA Chandel and DSA Tamenglong could not make the cut in the semifinals.

The women's volleyball conducted by HIDSAM officials and local prominent judges witnessed DSA Sadar Hills, DSA Chandel, DSA Senapati and DSA Ukhrul in the semifinals while DSA Churachandpur and DSA Tamenglong failed to make it into the semifinals.

In today's women's volleyball, DSA Ukhrul had two win over DSA Sadar Hills in the first match and DSA Churachandpur in the third match while DSA Chandel defeated DSA Senapati in the second match.

With two win in the same day, DSA Ukhrul booked its berth in the semifinal and DSA Sadar Hills despite of loss this morning with one win yesterday made it to the semifinals while DSA Chandel with one win yesterday and another win this morning made it to the semifinals round and DSA Senapati with one win and one loss could made it into the semifinals round.

In men's football today, DSA Churachandpur had a narrow 2-1 win over DSA Sadar Hills in the first match while DSA Senapati in a do or die match against DSA Tamenglong had similar 2-1 win to book its berth in the semifinals round.

DSA Churachandpur maintained its 2-1 victory over DSA Sadar Hills after it overwhelmed DSA Chandel yesterday in the same goal margin to make it into the semifinals while despite of loss in the hands of DSA Churachandpur, with one win DSA Sadar Hills also reached the semifinals round.

Peter Simuthang of DSA Churachandpur broke the deadlock when he strike home in the 20th minutes but DSA Sadar Hills could found the equalizer after nine minutes through its young and promising striker Songpu with a brilliant assistance from former Bengaluru FC player Boithang Haokip in the 29th minutes.

However, DSA Churachandpur cameback smarter in the second half to devastate Sadar Hills side in the 43rd minutes when Peter Simuthang added another goal through his brilliant strike.

It was one of the best and most entertaining match when DSA Tamenglong takes on DSA Senapati in the second half as it was a 'do or die' game for both the team.

Senapati side was lucky enough to get an opportunity to lead the game in the 21st minute when its striker Dahrii daringly break the deadlock with his brilliant goal but Tamenglong side reiterate immediately after 3 minutes and found the equalizer through AK Keininglung in the 24th minute.

Since then, the match begin to show its peak when both side put all their energy and skills to find a winning goal for which they were in some occasion compel to show their aggressiveness among one another and even to the referees but anyhow maintained their limit and discipline which could otherwise kill the game spirit.

After a lengthy hard fought, DSA Senapati could finally found the winning goal through Vareiyang in the 64th minutes and shattered the hope of DSA Tamenglong and made it into the semifinals round.

Tomorrow in women's volleyball semifinals, DSA Chandel will meet DSA Sadar Hills in the first match while DSA Ukhrul will play DSA Senapati in the second match.

In men's football semifinals match tomorrow, DSA Churachandpur will play DSA Senapati in the first match while DSA Ukhrul will battle it out with DSA Sadar Hills in the second match.
