State Level Boxing Championship : Imphal West district eye champions title

Imphal, July 30 2018: Imphal West district team are setting their sight in the team champions title of the ongoing State Level Boxing Championship organised by Manipur Amateur Boxing Association at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena with a total of 14 gold, 9 silver and 14 bronze medals at the end of the 5th day of the competition while Bishnupur district are following very closely with 14 gold, 5 silver and 13 bronze medals.

The day saw completion of final clash of various age groups and weight categories.

Following are the results of those clashes:
Sub-Junior Girls : Ch Kiran of Imphal West (IW) clinched the U-36 kg gold for sub-junior girls (born 2006) beating L Phonia Devi of Imphal East (IE) in the final while Y Venika Chanu of Bishnupur (Bpr) got the 38 kg gold defeating Leirarin Shaiza of Ukhrul (Ukl) in the final bout (born 2006).Th Apsara of Bpr got better of Kakching's M Luxmi in the final and claimed the 42 kg gold (born 2005) while the 44 kg title went to N Kalpna of Thoubal who overpowered IW's Ch Poireilembi Chanu in the final (born 2005).IE's S Athoi outlasted M Manda Chanu of Thoubal in the 46 kg title (born 2005) clash to win the gold medal while Thoubal's H Karuna Devi beat T Devika Devi of Bpr to clinched the 48 kg title (born 2005) .

Sub-junior girls born in 2004: T Sophya Chanu of Bpr fetched a gold medal in the 42 kg sub-jr girls competition defeating S Helena of Ukl while S Surbala of the same unit (Bpr) beat Kh Sarju of IW to claim the 44 kg title.

Bishnupur's Bindya Maishnam also got a gold medal in the 46 kg category beating N Pareichetpi of IE in the final.

W Ithoibi clinched the 50 kg title with a win over K Bandana of IW in the final while E Thoithoi of Kakching and Th Kunjarani of IW claimed the 52 kg and 54 kg titles respectively.

E Thoithoi beat Th Himalaya of Tengnoupal and Th Kunjarani saw off L Sushmita in the respective final bouts.

Sub-Junior Boys (born in 2006): Jefferson Serto of Churachandpur (CCP) won the 30 kg sub-junior boys title beating Shivadash Sapam of Tamenglong (TML) in the final while Md Miraj of Kakching and M Punshiba Singh of Tbl were able to claim the 34 and 36 kg title beating Z Z-Lee of TOP and Vikash Y of IW respectively.

Th Tompok of TBL claimed the 38 kg gold beating Th Bilbir of TML in the final while Kh Bikash of Bpr clinched the 40 kg title after seeing off L Yaikhomba of CCP in the final bout.

Sub-Junior Boys (born in 2005): M Amarjoshi of Tbl (34 kg), Th Lanjaoba of Kamjong (KMJ) (40 kg), H Nilakanta of IW (42 kg), W Lamjingba of IE (44 kg), Chinglemba Moirangthem of CCP (46 kg) and L Radheshyam of Bpr (48 kg) emerged champions of the various sub-junior boys' categories.

Sub-Junior Boys (born in 2004):
Ng Lamnganba of IE outshone K Deben of CCP in the final bout for 42 kg category and won the gold medal while L Edipak of IW was able to seal the 46 kg title with a win over L Nongshaba of Bpr in the final.

The 48 kg gold went to Th Amitkumar of Bpr who beat Sh Rahul of Spt while Malganpu Kamei of Kangpokpi (Kpi) clinched the 50 kg title beating Th Raspiyar Meitei of Tbl.

M Ojit of Kpi and A Bijen of IE also defeated their respective rivals to claim 52 kg and 54 kg titles.

Junior Girls
Kh Anju of IW fetched the gold medal in the 50 kg junior girls' competition beating N Bidyapati of IE in the final while M Rosemary Chanu of Bpr got the 48 kg gold beating S Bijaya of Tml in the final.

N Bidiya of Tbl and O Pinky Chanu claimed the 54 kg gold and 46 kg gold respectively defeating their rivals today.

Junior Men
M Rahul of IE won the 66 kg junior men's gold with a win over L Thomson of IW in the final while Sh Arjun Sharma of Bpr beat N Boinao of IW to win the 63 kg gold.

Th Boicha Singh of IE added a gold medal to the unit with a win over Y Rajkiran of Kakching in the final while L Met singh of Tbl was able to secure the 48 kg junior men's gold medal beating P Jackson of IW.

N Priyobarta of Bpr and H Bhimjit of lW won the 50 and 52 kg title bouts defeating their respective rivals.

Youth Women
Th Alena of IW clinched the youth women's 60 kg title with a win over N Surjalata of Tbl in the final while Sanathoi Hemam of Bpr and Th Eliza of IW won the 48 kg and 51 kg titles respectively.

Youth Men
O Milan Singh of Chandel defeated L Johny Singh of IW to win the 69 kg youth men's gold medal while N Bobosana of IW won the 64 kg title beating L Jenus of IW in the final bout.

K Lucky son of IE, Kh Nongdamkhomba Sing of IW, L Rohit of IE and Th Nanao Singh of IW claimed the 60 kg, 56 kg, 52 kg and 49 kg youth men titles respectively.

Senior Women
Bishnupur's Kh Monika defeated W Rojita Chanu of IE to win the gold medal of senior women 51 kg category and L Nilam of IE got the 64 kg gold beating Mayori CS of Ukl in the final.

Senior Men
L Deep Singh of IW defeated Roihan Choudhury of IE to claimed the gold medal of 91+ kg senior men's competition.

T Girish Singh of IW, Myson Moirangthem of Bpr and Kh Sanamacha of IE were able to claim the 52kg, 60 kg and 69 kg senior men titles respectively.

S Arnold Singh beat Y Sanamacha Singh of MPSC in the semi-final for 75 kg senior men's category and booked the final berth.
