22nd Governor's Cup State Level Fencing Championship-2026 begins

Imphal, July 29 2026: The 22nd edition of the Governor's Cup State Level Fencing Championship-2026 began today at Fencing Hall, Khuman Lampak under the aegis of the Manipur Fencing Association.

The opening day of the championship witnessed completion of the mini boys and girls' competition.

Justice H of Imphal West sealed the mini boys' foil event gold medal beating Sh Chingkhei of Chandel.

Chandel's P Nongpoknganba and S Mandela shared the bronze medal podium in this event.

B Balmiki meanwhile beat Guruaribam Baniba in an all Imphal East epee event final as compatriots Thoihenba and Nahakpam Denish shared the bronze medal podium.

Imphal East fencers also swept the mini boys' sabre medals as G Shillemba beat Y Tomthinganba in the title clash after they outlasted their compatriots Sh Mangal and Y Yaiphaba in the semis.

P Yurica meanwhile fetched the mini girls' foil event gold by beating RK Delencia in an all Imphal East final as Dushila of Imphal East and K Thoibisana of Chandel won bronze medals.

Chilsilla Sagolshem of Imphal East meanwhile beat Ukhrul's Oinam Sanathoi for the epee event gold as S Bibilika and Lamnganbi Okram of Imphal East settled for the bronze medals.

Selina Saikhom of Imphal East beat Joyshree Konjengbam of Imphal West for the sabre gold.

Child : Elison Sagolsem of Imphal East meanwhile earned the child boys' foil event gold by beating Ng Tomthinnganba of Imphal West as Seram Mimily beat Dushila L for the girls' title in an all Imphal East final.

Th Yaichenbi meanwhile sealed the child girls' sabre event gold by beating E Malemnganbi in an all Imphal East final.
