Imphal, April 29 2017: TRVSA trounced VBFAM by three goals to one while NCDA and IVFA split points with two goals each on the ongoing Sangai Trophy at Pamyal play ground, Patsoi today.

In the first match of the day, NCDA and IVFA were well matched with both teams adopting a positive approach to the match to garner full points.

Playing an open and attacking match, the two teams started looking for the opportunity to go into the lead and NCDA did well to capitalise on a defensive lapse of IVFA and go one up in the 4th minute of the match.

A weak clearance from the defence line of IVFA saw the ball going to the forward line of NCDA and making no mistake a precise pass saw the ball going to an unmarked Kh Tikendrajit.

Coolly controlling the ball, Tikendrajit made no mistake in sending the ball home in the 4th minute of the match.

Stung by the early goal, IVFA played to a plan and started finding the gaps in the defence line of NCDA.

A fine run down the flank saw the ball being centred well where A Jayanta was well positioned to take a power packed shot that beat the custodian of NCDA hands down in the 30th minute and draw parity.

The equaliser provided the right impetus to the players of IVFA and they started making a couple of well coordinated moves and Th Tophy did well to send the ball home in the 32nd minute to help IVFA take the lead.

The one goal deficit however did not dishearten the players of NCDA and they went all out to find the equaliser and come back into the match.

Off one good move from the midfield, the ball went to Kh Inaocha, who faced little trouble in side stepping a couple of defenders and find the target in the 36th minute to restore parity.

The second match of the day was a one sided affair with TRVSA trouncing VBFAM by three goals to one.

M Ranjit did well to help TRVSA shoot into the lead when he scored a spectacular goal in the 29th minute.

The one goal advantage added more teeth to the attack of TRVSA and they increased the lead in the 32nd minute when N Sarat was bang on target.

Down by two goals to nil, VBFAM put more purpose in their game and Palmei Langjapao managed to score one in the 36th minute to narrow the margin.

However TRVSA came back more powerfully and Jayenta scored in the 39th minute to take the match away from VBFAM and garner full points convincingly.
