Junior Boys NFC : Manipur to open league campaign against Assam on Aug 30

Imphal, August 28 2026: State lads are set to open the Junior Boys' NFC for Dr BC Roy Trophy 2026-27 Tier-I against Assam on August 30 at Bangalore Football Stadium.

Manipur are drawn alongside Kerala, Telangana and Assam in Group A of the age group tournament conducted under the auspices of the All India Football Federation.

Notably the State team comprise the following young athletes.

Goalkeepers : Thangshabam Thomas of IWDFA and Ningombam Khelemba of UCFA;

Defenders : Laishom Subason of MUFA, Siroy Khwairakpam of RFA, Laishram Jimax of BFA, Lamyanba Oinam of DSA Bpr, Khwairakpam Lanchenba of IWDFA, Bikash Huidrom of DSA Bpr, Khithiba Karam of BFA and Kshetrimayum Nodiyachand of NEROCA FC;

Midfielders : Prabin Warepam of DSA Bishnupur, Heikrujam Jogesh of Khuman FA, Huidrom Salainganba of DSA Kak, Thiyam Jemson of KAFA, Thingnam Joshua of DSA Kak, Mayanglambam Lamnganba of DSA Bpr and Muskan of NEROCA FC.

Forward : Md Ezazur Rehman of KIYC FA, Chanam Yohenba of IYFC and Thangjam Deepak of Khuman FA.

Manipur will play Kerala in the second group stage match on September 2 and Telangana on September 4.All the group stage matches involving Manipur start at 8:15 am .
