CBSE National School Games : Nahakpam Himanshu adjudged 'Best U14 Swimmer' in Zonal competition

Imphal, July 28 2026: Manipur's Nahakpam Himanshu has been named as the Best U14 Swimmer in the zonal competition cum trial selection held at DPS Bhilai in Chhattisgarh ahead the CBSE National School Games.

Himanshu bagged as many as four gold medals at the competition to claim the zonal's best swimmer title.

He topped the 100 m freestyle event with a time of 58.34 seconds; 200 m individual medley event with a time of 2:24.47; 50 m butterfly event in 28.41 seconds and 50 m freestyle in 26.87 seconds to amass four gold medals.

Another State swimmer Gaithulung Golmei also won a gold, a silver and a bronze medal at the same zonal competition.

He took 35.06 seconds to win the gold medal in the 50 m breaststroke event; 27.52 seconds in 50 m freestyle event to win a silver and 29.84 seconds to win a bronze medal in the 50 m butterfly event.
