2nd Premier League : UCFC end YSWA's 6-game unbeaten run to consolidate Group B pole position

Imphal, June 25 2025: United Chandel FC (UCFC) ended the 6-game unbeaten run of Youth Social Welfare Association (YSWA), Utlou by handing a 2-0 defeat and went atop Group B table in the ongoing 2nd Premier League at Langjing Achouba Turf ground this afternoon.

The win came on the back of a first half brace from Thaokung Malchong Chothe.

Thaokung Malchong Chothe opened the scoring in the 35th minute before he found the second and decisive goal four minutes into added time of the opening minute.

YSWA, who had won twice and drew four times in the last 6 matches, upped their defence to deny further goals from UCFC in the second half while also making attacks whenever possible.

Their efforts however did not yield results as UCFC's defence soaked up all pressure to maintain their lead till the final whistle.

It was the fourth win for UCFC in 6 matches that included a draw and it fired the team to the top of Group B table on 13 points ahead of UDO who are unbeaten in 6 games with 3 wins and 3 draws.

UCFC will play Sagolband United (SU) in their next match on June 28 .
