State Boxing: Four elite women reach finals, 11 boys win gold

Imphal, July 24 2025:
Four boxers secured spots in the elite women's division finals, while four U17 boys and seven U15 boys claimed gold medals on the fourth day of the ongoing State Level Boxing Championships 2025 at Boxing Arena, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
Elite women's semifinals: In the 48 kg category, Venika Yumnam Chanu (BPR) displayed technical superiority with a unanimous 5-0 victory over Wangjam Ethoibi Chanu (IW).
Another notable performance came from Huidrom Karuna Devi (TBL), who earned a clear 5-0 win against Sanasam Bandana Devi (KAK).
The 51 kg semifinal saw Elangbam Thoithoi Chanu (KAK) edge past Maibam Rosemary Chanu (BPR) with a narrow 4-1 win.
In the 54 kg class, Ahongshangbam Kajal Devi (IE) defeated Maibam Rosita Devi (TBL) convincingly, 5-0 .

U17 boys' finals:
In the 46 kg category, Maisam Renson Singh (IW) emerged victorious with a 5-1 win over Usham Thouna Luwang (IE).
Lairenlakpam Ambekar Meetei (IW) won the 48 kg title via knockout over Worthyso Vashi (UKL).
Moibungkhongbam Lanchenba Singh (KAK) claimed the 50 kg crown after defeating Laishangbam Uningba Khuman (IW) 4-1.In the 52 kg division, Thongram Manithoiba Meitei (IW) edged Wangthoi Chirom (IE) 3-2 .
Salam Diamond Singh (IW) won the 54 kg final with a clean 5-0 score against Md Alam (TBL) .
U15 boys' finals:
In the finals, Yumnam Lan-thoiba Singh (KAK) clinched the 43 kg title with a 5-0 win over Khongbantabam Shahil Meitei (IE).
Khundon Robert Singh (IE) triumphed in the 49 kg final over Nongmaithem Thoithoiba Singh (BPR), also with a 5-0 verdict.
In the 52 kg category, Thangjam Jerison Meitei (IE) secured a dominant 5-0 win against Shangmei Khayi (UKL).
Rajkumar Athoisana Meitei (TBL) emerged winner in the 55 kg final, defeating Laishram Nonglenkhom-ba Meitei (IE) 4-0.Lukram Lilmani Singh (TBL) edged Chingkham Reynil Singh (IE) 3-2 in the 58 kg final.
Konthoujam Raju Singh (IE) claimed the 61 kg title after overcoming Yumlembam San-athoiba Meitei (BPR) by RSC in the third round.
Meanwhile, Chingakham Nungshithoi Singh won the 37kg category via walkover.
U19 women's semifinals:
In the 54 kg semifinal, Loitongbam Luxmi Devi (BPR) delivered a dominant 5-0 win over Lanchalu Malangmei (TML).
Her teammate Loitongbam Alia Chanu (BPR) secured a second-round RSC victory in the 57 kg category over Chingkheinganbi Elangbam (KAK).
The 60 kg bouts saw Mena-ka Sharungbam (IE) outclass Nimsolan Khapai Shimrah (UKL) 5-0, while Thokchom Geetanjali Devi (IW) advanced to the finals following an RSC first-round win against Luxmi Nongthombam (BPR) .
