U-23 Men's Cricket : RCA, SCCC, RULE enter semis

RCA, Lilong; SCCC, Singjamei Thongam Leikai and RULE, Meitram all register win to secure their semi-final berths in the ongoing 1st MNCA Haobam Biramangol Memorial U-23 Men's Cricket Tournament 2023-24 .
Group A winners RCA rode on bowlers to secure a 36-run victory after getting bundled out for just 132 runs in 36.4 overs by Group B runners up TCMDC, Thongju Part II Pechu Lampak in a quarterfinal match here at Lairenjam Public Ground.
TCMDC put in a concerted bowling effort and found 6 of the bowlers among the wickets as they dismissed toss winners RCA for 132 runs.
Syed Hussain topscored for RCA with 33 runs followed by Md Alfash 23 and Zamir Khan 17 .
Ringku Kangujam was the pick of TCMDC bowlers finishing with the figures of 3/23 and U Rain claimed twice (2/21) as four others managed a wicket apiece.

TCMDC batting department however faltered badly in the chase with Naesh Hussain (4/15) and Zuned (2/24) running riot and eventually slumped to 96 all out in 31.4 overs.
Naesh Hussain was eventually adjudged player of the match.
In another quarterfinal clash staged at Moijing Public Ground, Group C winners SCCC beat Group D runners up CRAU, Khamnam Bazar by 94 runs via VJD method.
SCCC opted to bat first and were in a commanding position by scoring 232/5 in 33 overs courtesy of Basant 96 not out and Lishan Khaidem 49 when rain interrupted their innings.
Eventually, the target was revised to 237 in 33 overs via VJD method.
Chasing the big target, CRAU were dismissed for 142 runs in 25.3 overs with Shyam Kumar Rey leading the demolition job for SCCC on the way to his 5/23.Rex Waikhom also picked two wickets (2/27) to quicken up the innings as Bikcy Kumar Das and Basant secured a wicket apiece.
Lamabam Jotin 27, Ph Jodash 25 and H Joyhenba 24 were the leading scorers for CRAU in the chase.
Elsewhere at Model HSS and Oriental College Ground, Group A runners up RULE, Meitram defeated Group C winners YWC, Langthabal by 4 wickets in a low scoring quarterfinal match.
S Somokanta ran through the line up of YWC who opted to bat first and eventually set up their collapse at 89 by collecting record 7 wickets alone in his spell of 8 overs by conceding just 15 runs.
A Rojit also claimed two (2/10) for RULE as Seram Robinson 26, Soubam Robinson 21 and Y Athouba 17 led the YWC batting department in a lost cause.
RULE then cruised to winning 90 at the cost of 6 wickets in 29.1 overs.
S Ananda 29, Jay Singh 23 and A Rojit 10 were the leading run getters for RULE in the innings that saw Y Vivek (3/26) and S Dailish (2/23) sharing five wickets for YWC.
The quarterfinal match between Group D winners KASC, Khomidok and Group C runners up, YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel scheduled at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground was however abandoned due to heavy rain.
The two sides will play for the last semi-final berth tomorrow at Lairenjam Public Ground.
