Police complaint unfortunate, says Biramani

Imphal, September 20 2026: Mayanglambam Biramani, vice president of the Wushu Association of Manipur, expressed sadness over a police complaint filed against him by two individuals recently.

Addressing a press conference at the conference hall of Kirpadashini Advanced Hospital, M Biramani clarified that the allegations of his links with a proscribed militant outfit and the alleged intimidation of certain persons, as filed in the police complaint, are completely baseless and unfounded.

He also appealed to all concerned to investigate the matter seriously and verify the facts legally.

He stated that the Wushu Association of Manipur has only recently emerged out of factional issues following eight years of legal battles, with new office-bearers being elected recently under the direction of the Court concerned.

The police complaint filed by the two individuals to the DGP against him can be seen as an attempt to ensure unwanted issues continue to linger and disrupt the association, he said.

He further highlighted ongoing efforts by detractors to form parallel associations in Imphal East alongside cases of unchecked additions of new members.

There have been two instances of such complaints in the past, and he was even threatened with a bomb attack previously, Biramani added.

Maintaining that the allegations are entirely baseless, he urged the authorities concerned to thoroughly investigate the matter and deliver justice against attempts to malign his reputation.

Key office-bearers of the Wushu Association of Manipur also attended the press conference.
