T Sanamacha Chanu, M Jadumani among 20-member boxing squad for World Boxing Championships

Imphal, August 18 2025:
Two State boxers are among the 20-member squad for the World Boxing Championships 2025 to be held from September 4 to 14 in Liverpool, England.
Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain and ace Indian pugilist Nikhat Zareen are also in the squad for the inaugural World Boxing Championships held by World Boxing - the newly-formed international governing body for the sport.
The championship will see boxers from all over the globe compete for medals in 20 divisions - 10 weight classes for men and as many for women.
It is learnt that the bouts will be held in Olympic-style format.
T Sanamacha Chanu will be competing in the women's 70 kg category while Jadumani will compete in the men's 50 kg category.
The other boxers in the squad include Meenakshi Hooda (Women's 48kg), Sakshi (Women's 54kg), Jaismine Lamboria (Women's 57kg), Sanju Khatri (Women's 60kg), Neeraj Phogat (Women's 65 kg), Pooja Rani (Women's 80 kg ), Nupur Sheoran (Women's 80+ kg), Pawan Bartwal (Men's 55kg), Sachin Siwach Jr (Men's 60kg), Abhinash Jamwal (Men's 65kg), Hitesh Gulia (Men's 70kg), Sumit Kundu (Men's 75kg), Lakshya Chahar (Men's 80kg), Jugnoo Ahlawat (Men's 85kg), Harsh Chaudhary (Men's 90kg), and Narender Berwal (Men's 90+kg) .
Notably, Leishangthem Radia is also among the support staff as coach.
They will also be attending a pre championship training camp in Sheffield that will run from August 18 to September 1 .
