Manipur finish National Karate Championship with 4 medals

Imphal, June 16 2025:
Manipur Amateur Karate Association team ended the KIO National Karate Championship 2025 for Sub-Junior, Cadet and Junior with 4 medals including one gold and one silver yesterday.
The championship was held from June 12 to 15 at Multipurpose Hall, Dehradun.
Sanasam Yaiphaba, competing in the U-13 years boys' -55 kg kumite event won the gold medal yesterday as Laishram Maninganba settled for a silver medal in the U-13 boys' -50 kumite event.
Maninganba is the son of L Sanjoy and L Leirentombi Leima of Karam Makha Leikai.
He studies in Class IX at Maipakpi Memorial Academy.
Meanwhile, Sanasam Yaiphaba was born to S Sonamani and S Chandrajini Devi of Kyamgei Maning Leikai.
He studies in class IX at Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School.
Both the young karatekas train under Sensei Sanjit Khadangbam at Kanglei Sports Academy, Kyamgei.
Earlier, Linthoi Khuraijam, daughter of Khuraijam Arbindo and Biteshwori Leima of Kyamgei Maning Leikai, had also won a silver medal U-11 years girl's -45 kg kumite event as Soram Lannganbi of ISKF bagged a bronze medal in the U-10 girls 40 kg kumite event.
Linthoi also trains at Kanglei Sports Academy, Kyamgei under sensei Kh Sanjit.
She is a class VI student of Catholic School, Canchipur.
Meanwhile Lannganbi, daughter of S Chinglen and S Milan Leima, trains under Soibam Bindeshori at ISKF Patsoi.
She studies in Class V at RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Pangei.
The State team were managed by Thiyam Somorendro and Tiken Dahal and coached by Soibam Chandrima, Soram Chinglen and Singamning Marzah.
