Imphal, January 16 2026: RULE, Meitram defeated PTCC, Patsoi Part III by 18 runs at Khudeiband Lampak to cap Group A campaign with 6 wins and to extend unbeaten run to 7 games having tied with PCC in the opening game.

The result not only ruled out PTCC's hopes of making top two finish but also lifted RULE temporarily to the top of the group table and assured them a semi-final ticket of the 15-team tournament organised by the Manipur Cricket Association.

RULE, who pulled off a 6 wicket win over KASC, Khomidok yesterday, won the toss and opted to bat first today.

They faced stiff opposition from PTCC bowlers and were dismissed for a modest total of 144 runs despite a slow half century knock from Sanjenbam Suresh (50 off 65; 6 fours).

RULE however successfully defended their total by bundling out PTCC for 126 runs in 34.2 overs riding on concerted bowling effort from Sanjenbam Indrakumar (3/21 in 6.2 overs), Jay Singh (2/28 in 7 overs), Thokchom Kishan (2/42), Nongthombam Sarojkumar (1/17 in 7 overs), and Sanjenbam Ananda (1/18 in 7 overs) .

Angomcha Rojit (16 not out off 20), S Indrakumar (16 off 17), and Jay Singh (14 off 29) also managed double digit figures for RULE in the first innings that saw Shapam Kenjit (3/20 in 5.5 overs), Moirangthem Dominic (3/21 in 6 overs), and Okram Sadananda (2/19 in 3 overs)-impressed with the ball for PTCC.

In reply, G Gomi Sharma did his best to keep the chase alive with an early 46 off 63 balls while Aribam Rohit and Mutum Gemson posted 18 and 16 runs respectively but Jay Singh, S Ananda, Thokchom Kishan, and Indrakumar gain gradual control with their impeccable bowling feats and set up then-collapse at 126.Indrakumar was adjudged player of the match.

Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, CDCC, Sagolband were awarded full points against FORCE acting on an alleged impersonation case.

KSDO will play TCMDC in the next Group A match tomorrow at Khudeiband Lampak while CDCC will play KASC in their final league match at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground.
