Five times champion MPSC ousted by TRAU

The Tiddim Road Athletics Union (TRAU), Kwakeithel today blanked out Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC by two goals in the first pre-quarter final match of the ongoing 55th Sir hurachand Singh, KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament, 2011 played at Mapal Kangjeibung and entered the quarter final rounds.
The two goals of TRAU were scored by M Sudhiranjan and N Rakesh.
Sudhiranjan scored the first goal in the 32nd minute of the match with a direct shot from the middle of the field.
While the second goal was scored in the 78th minute of the match by N Rakesh from a ball passed by his teammate Lunminlal Khongsai from the left flank.
On the other hand, MPSC who had won the championship in many former editions could not registered a single goal against TRAU in today's match and had to exit from the championship with a heavy heart.
M Sudhiranjan and N Rakesh of TRAU and Thangminlen and Maringmei of MPSC were issued yellow cards by the centre referee for their unsporting behavious during the match.
In the second pre-quarter final match, AIM, Khabam Lamkhai will clash with USA, Khurai tomorrow at 1.30 pm at Mapal Kangjeibung for a berth in the quarter final round.
