YWC-Th, SAI-RC and KRYPHSA advance in CRPF organised Women's Football Tournament

Imphal, September 12 2026: The sporting drive conducted by CRPF Battalions under the "Sports for Peace and Development Across the Nation/ SPANDAN" initiative of Khelo India and Sports Authority of India continued across the State.

As a part of the drive, a women's football tournament, organised by F company of the 169 Bn CRPF, kicked off today at Keibi Kumuda football ground with the participation of 7 teams.

In the tournament organised in the knock-out format, YWC- Th (Thambalkhong), SAI RC and KRYPHSA sealed their first round victories to advance to semis.

In the opening match, YWC-Th rode on goals from Rosy (22') and Priyadasini (48') to edge out YWC-L, Langthabal 2-1.The lone goal for the Langthabal team was scored by Daya in the 8th minute.

Later in the second match, SAI RC outlasted Khuman FA 1-0 courtesy of Herina's 20th minute penalty and set up the semi-final date with YWC-Th .

The third match saw KRYPHSA, Naoremthong earn a walkover win over MUFA to set up the other semi-final date with ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound.
