Koijam Athoiba adjudged best promising swimmer as 38th State Aquatics Championship concludes

The 38th edition of the State Aquatics Championship-2025 organised by the Manipur Swimming Association at Standard College Swimming Pool in Kongba came to a close today with Koijam Athoiba claiming the title of best promising swimmer.
The final day of the three-day championship saw S Dabit securing gold medal in the Group II Boys' 200 m freestyle competition taking 2 minutes 10.23 seconds (2:10.23).M Pravesh (2:17.05) and L Eokiing (3:16.145) finished second and third to settle for the silver and bronze medal respectively.
Meanwhile, Sarungbam Luching claimed the Group IV Boys' 50 m freestyle gold taking 37.051 seconds as Sarangthem Yoihen (40.5 sec) and Vibeklemba (40.62 sec) finished second and third.
In the 200 m breaststroke competition for Group III Boys, Pieter swam best 2:54.731 as Pumhen (2:56.28) and RK Yoihenba (3:40.303) finished second and third.
Soubam Luchingbi in the meantime sealed the Group HI Girls' 100 m freestyle gold with a time of 1:15.71 while Christina (1:17.354) and Akoijam Langlen (1:23.30) bagged the silver and bronze medals.
The 100 m breaststroke gold for Group III Boys' meanwhile went to Maisnam Arendam who clocked best time of 1:20.72 .
Soram Pietersen (1:21.34) and Laitonjam Punghen (1:23.24) finished second and third in this competition.
Nahakpam Hemanshu meanwhile claimed both the 100 m and 200 m individual medley gold medals for Group III Boys.
In the 100 m event, Hemansu took 1:12.19 as S Pietersen 1:24.15 and Sairem Viban (1:37.505) finished second and third.
In the 200 m event, Hemanshu took 2:29.25 to finish atop as K Athoiba (2:32.31) and Laitonjam Punghen (2:42.13) finished second and third.
