JJFA emerge champions of 66 Bn CRPF-organised football tournament

Imphal/Thoubal, September 11 2026:
The 66 Bn CRPF successfully organised a two-day Football Tournament at Kodompokpi Sports Complex, Thoubal, Manipur with the objective of promoting sportsmanship, youth engagement, physical fitness, team spirit and peace through sports.
The tournament organised under "Sports for Peace and Development Across the Nation (SPANDAN)" initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from 8 local football teams and attracted a large number of youth, sports enthusiasts and members of the local community.

The event provided an opportunity for local players to showcase their sporting talent and encouraged healthy, positive and constructive engagement among the youth.
JJFA emerged as champions by seuring a 1-0 final victory over PPFCC .
Winners JJFA, runners up PPFCC and third placed Tentha Warriors were feted during the closing ceremony that was graced by Sushila Devi Likmabam, Arjuna Awardee, as the chief guest.
Her presence and interaction with the participating players served as an inspiration to the young sportspersons and added significance to the community-oriented sporting initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of 66 Bn CRPF highlighted the importance of sports in nurturing discipline, leadership, teamwork and a sense of camaraderie among the youth.
The 66 Bn CRPF expressed its sincere gratitude to Sushila Devi Likmabam, the local administration, Sports Authority/concerned sports agencies, participating teams, players, match officials, volunteers and the people of Thoubal for their valuable cooperation and support in making the tournament a successful and memorable sporting event.
A similar men's open football tournament organised by 120 Bn CRPF commenced at Maklang Football Ground this afternoon in the presence of Lamsang AC MLA, S Rajen as chief guest.
The tournament was organised in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India and under the "Sports for Peace and Development Across the Nation" initiative.
12 teams will vie for top honours of the tournament organised in single elimination format.
Rajeev Lochan, Commandant, 120 Bn CRPF and other officers and personnel of the Bn also attended the inaugural function.
T-Shirts were also handed out to the participating teams.
The tournament will conclude on September 14 .
