Four divers, two coaches from Manipur to represent India in Asian Aquatics Championship

Imphal, September 11 2025: Four divers and two coaches from Manipur are part of team India taking part in the 11th Asian Aquatics Championships in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The 11th Asian Aquatics Championship is scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad from September 28 to October 10 .

It will be hosted by the Swimming Federation of India under the aegis of the World Aquatics.

The four divers from Manipur representing India are Hemam London Singh, Indiver Sairem, Yumnam Premson Meitei and Ningthoujam Willson.

The two coaches are Malem Kunjakishor and Laitonjam James.

M Kunjakishor Meitei will head the Indian divers' team in the championship.

He hails from Taothong Khunou Lamshang, and is the son of Late Bidu Meitei and M Nageshwari Devi.

He is also the chief coach of diving at the Army Sports Institute, Pune.

Laitonjam James Meitei will be the coach of India's Water Polo team in the championship.

James is also the coach of the Services Water Polo Team.

James hails from Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal and is the son of L Mohendro Meitei.

Four divers Hemam London is the son of Hemam Surchandra and Hemam Jaya of Punshi Leikai, Game Village Zone-II.

He originally hails from Moirang.

Hemam London is currently with the Army Sports Institute (ASI), Pune.

Indiver Sairem hails from Lamboikhongnangkhong.

He is the son of Sairem Dhamendra Meitei and S Pratima.

Yumnam Premson Meitei is with the ASI Pune.

He is the son of Yumnam Inao Meitei and Yumnam Landhoni of Waiton Mamang Leikai, Pangei.

Ningthoujam Willson is with the ASI Pune.

He is the son of Ningthoujam Bhorot and Ningthoujam Anita of Kongba Nandeibam Leikai, Imphal East.
