Social Awareness Trophy Sepaktakraw : HUDIC-A win mini boys' title; stage set for junior boys and girls' final

Imphal, July 11 2025: HUDIC-A, Heingang emerged the champions of the mini boys' event in the 1st State Level Sepaktakraw Social Awareness Trophy organised by the Kanglei Yelhou Cheingak and Uchekon Youth Athletic Club.

HUDIC-A defeated YAWA-A, Singjamei in straight sets (15-12, 15-7) in the final to seal the top honour.

Earlier in the semi-finals, YAWA-A beat YASTA 17-16, 15-6 before HUDIC-A beat SWC-A 15-9, 15-3 .

In the hard line match, YASTA beat SWC-A 15-7, 11-15, 15-5 to seal third place title.

Earlier in the last-8 round matches, HUDIC-A saw off HUDIC-B 17-16, 15-11 as YAWA-A outlasted PUC-B 15-13, 15-17, 15-7 while YASTA beat IMSUC-B 15-3, 15-10 and SWC-A got the better of ALSA 15-13, 15-6 .

Stage set for junior boys and girls' final

The day also saw completion of the final line up for both the junior boys and girls.

IMSUC, Heingang will face off against PUC-A, Kairang in the junior girls' final while KYC, Uchekon will play YAWA in the junior boys' title clash.

IMSUC reached the junior girls' final with a 2-1 (8-15, 15-12, 15-12) comeback win against YAWA in a semifinal clash as PUC-A outlasted YASTA in the same fashion (10-15, 15-10,15-6) to complete the final line up.

YASTA however emerged third in the competition with a 11-15, 15-10, 15-6 hard line win against YAWA.

In the league round matches staged earlier in the day, IMSUC beat PUC-B 15-5, 15-11 and edged YASTA 15-10, 13-15, 15-12 to finish Group A winners.

PUC-A in the meantime beat YAWA 15-12, 15-9 and overcame SWC 15-5, 9-15, 15-11 to finish atop Group B table.

In other league round matches, YASTA beat PUC-B 17-14, 15-6 and YAWA beat SWC 11-15, 17-15, 15-12.KYC in the meantime entered junior boys' final with an easy 15-11, 15-2 win against SWC-A in the first semi-final match as YAWA-A overcame HUDIC 15-12, 17-16 in the other semi-final match.

SWC-A, Hiyanglam however sealed the third place title with a 12-15, 15-13, 15-11 hard line match win against HUDIC later in the day.
