YUCC, YWC stroll into 3rd MNCA U-19 Men's One Day Trophy quarterfinals

YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai and YWC, Langthabal breezed past their rivals in today's pre-quarterfinal matches of the 3rd MNCA U-19 Men's One Day Trophy.
At Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal, YUCC thumped AMCA, Thoubal by 7 wickets riding on leading bowling performance from Loitongbam Joychand.
AMCA opted to bat first but slumped to 63 all out within 16.1 overs as Loitongbam Joychand (4/6 in 5 overs), Ningthoujam Rahulkumar (2/20 in 5.1 overs), Ningthoujam Jamesbond (2/14 in 3 overs), and Oinam Shresth (1/23) combined well to rip apart their rivals.
M Amitkiyon 20 off 54 and Laishram Bidyashor 19 off 31 then provided initial momentum for YUCC in the chase before N Rahulkumar and Kh Banny remained unbeaten on 5 runs apiece to take YUCC to winning 67 in 17 overs with 7 wickets left in hand.
Moichingmayum Md Yakin who added the highest 20-run for AMCA also claimed two wickets for the team to finish with the figures of 2/31 in 8 overs.
L Joychand was named player of the match.
Meanwhile at Lairenjam Public Ground, YWC, Langthabal dismissed toss winners KASC, Khomidok for 63 runs in 19.3 overs before chasing down the target in just 10.5 overs at the cost of only two wickets.
Sorokhaibam Dailish was unstoppable with his bowling today as he broke the backbone of the KASC line up by claiming 6 wickets alone in 6 overs by conceding just 26 runs while Pukhrambam Roshan (2/6 in 4 overs) and Yumnam Achouba (1/16 in 5.3 overs) provided assist by sharing three wickets to cut short the first innings.
In reply, Sorokhaibam Thoungamba 24 off 36 balls and Yumnam Kumar 13 off 15 produced an unbeaten 35-run partnership for the third wicket to seal the victory in 10.5 overs.
Mehetab 16 and Md Sakif Hussain 11 led the scoring earlier for KASC as Bm Afsar and L Maqubul Fida Ali picked a wicket apiece in the YWC innings.
Dailish was eventually declared player of the match.
The pre-quarterfinal match at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground between AKSDO and YPHUC was however abandoned due to wet outfield.
Put in to bat first, YPHUC had racked up a competitive total of 273 for all wickets down in 37.5 overs before rain interrupted YPHUC innings at 2/1 in 1.2 overs.
