2nd Premier League Round 2 : L Premjit scores thrice as WAFA rout SSU 5-0, FC Raengdai beat ABA 1-0

L Premjit ran riot and scored a treble as Wangoi Football Association (WAFA) overwhelmed Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei 5-0 in a Group D league match of the 2nd Premier League Round 2 at SAI Ground, Takyel this evening.
Having shared a point apiece with Rising Athletic Union (RAU), Lairikyengbam Leikai in the second round opening match, WAFA raced to a 2-0 first half lead before slamming home three more goals in the second half half that also saw SSU reduced to 10-man, to seal the commanding 5-0 victory.
Laishram Premjit broke the deadlock within 9 minute although they faced early resistance before Yumnam Banty (45+1') scored one minute into the added time of the first half to make it 2-0 .
WAFA kept pressing despite the two goal lead and Shougrakpam Netrajit scored three minutes into the second half to pile further pressure on the Singjamei side who further slumped when Premjit netted his second in the 58th minute.
Things got worse for SSU as they were reduced to 10-man losing a valuable defender Ningombam Kabiraj to a double caution in the 70th minute.
Eight minutes after the departure of N Kabiraj, Laishram Premjit capitalised on a penalty kick to complete his treble and round off the scoring.
Earlier in the first match of the day, FC Raengdai, Noney defeated Athletic Brother's Association (ABA), Kshetrigao by a solitary goal.
The lone goal that earned FC Raengdai second straight victory in Group D Round 2 competition was scored by Thoudam Naresh Singh in the 62nd minute.
In the afternoon match, RAU were held to a 1-1 draw by Angtha FC.
RAU enjoyed a slender 1-0 lead courtesy of a goal from Ningthoujam in the 36th minute but Angtha FC drew level when Th D Thanagabar's made no mistake in converting a penalty in the 55th minute.
