1st State Level Sepaktakraw Social Awareness Trophy begins

HUDIC-C, SWC-A, HUDIC-A post two wins in regu event for mini boys

The 1st State Level Sepaktakraw Social Awareness Trophy kicked off today at Kongba Uchekon.

The event is organised jointly by Kanglei Yelhou Cheingak and Uchekon Youth Athletic Club under the aegis of the All Manipur Sepaktakraw Association.

The opening day saw HUDIC-C, SWC-A, HUDIC-A securing two wins in regu event for mini boys.

As many as 20 teams clubbed into four groups are participating in the mini boys' regu event.

In the Group A competition, SWC-A, Hiyanglam defeated SEDO by 2-1 sets (13-15, 15-6, 15-7) for the first win before beating PUC-A, Kairang in straight sets (15-10, 15-7) .

In other Group A matches, YAWA-A beat PUC-A in straight sets (15-8, 15-11) and YASTA, Thoubal beat YAWA-C (15-13, 15-7) .

In the Group B competition, HUDIC-A beat PUC-B in straight sets (15-4, 15-8) for the first win before beating WVSD 15-9, 17-15 for the second win.

In other Group B matches, SWC-B beat CYLC 15-7,15-12 and PUC-B beat SWC-B 17-16, 115-15, 17-16 .

In Group D competition, HUDIC-C beat YAWA-B 15-13, 15-12 for the first win before beating FUC 15-4, 15-3 to extend their winning run.

In other Group D matches, ALSA beat IMSUC-B 17-14, 15-5 and IMSUC-B beat YAWA-B 15-13, 15-7 .

In Group C matches, IMSUC-A beat OLYC 15-2, 15-2; YAWA-A beat IMSUC-A 15-7, 15-7 and HUDIC-B beat WAC 15-10, 17-14 .

Junior Boys

15 league matches of the junior boys competition were also completed today with IMSUC, YAWA-A securing three wins in Group B competition and YAWA-B, HUDIC and SWC-A securing two wins apiece in the Group A competition.

In the Group A matches, YAWA-A beat PUC-A 11-5, 15-7, 15-12; YAWA-B beat ALSA15-10, 15-12; HUDIC beat PUC-A 15-3, 15-7; SWC-A beat ALSA 15-12, 15-4; SWC-Abeat PUC-A 15-11, 15-10 and HUDIC beat YAWA-B 15-12, 17-15 .

In Group B matches, YAWA-A beat YAWA-C 15-10, 15-13; KYC beat PUC-B 15-8, 17-14; IMSUC beat SWC 9-15, 15-13, 15-7; IMSUC beat YAWA-A 15-10, 15-11; SWC-B beat PUC-B 15-10, 15-7; YAWA-A beat KYC 15-9, 15-12; PUC-B beat YAWA-C 15-3, 15-11; YAWA-A beat SWC-B 15-13, 15-8; IMSUC beat YAWA-C 15-7, 15-9 .

As many as 11 teams clubbed into 2 groups are taking part in the competition.
