Speaking at file ceremony, Namthango Kahmei (MCS), who addressed the gathering on behalf of the District Administration, said the project will be implemented by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Tamenglong, at an estimated cost of Rs 6 Crore.
He added that the synthetic turf will meet international standards and that the Sports Authority of India and representatives from FIFA will be involved in oversight.

He also said a DPR is being prepared for an alternative public ground near the Public Convention Hall and that the Chief Minister has promised construction of drainage covers along the rigid pavement in the town area.
On longer-term road projects, the MLA said the Tamenglong-Mahur and Tamenglong-Kangchup roads are slated for completion in 2027, and the state is seeking Rs 180 crore for the Imphal-Tamenglong (Tamei-Tamenglong) road.
