Ratung FC crowned Senapati district's Super Division Football League champions

Senapati, September 02 2025: Ratung FC were crowned champions of the Super Division District Football League, 2025-26 held at Astro Turf Ground, Senapati.

District's top tier football tournament conducted in the round robin league format saw participation of 6 strong teams and Ratung FC emerged on top with 10 points from 3 wins and 1 draw in 5 matches.

FC Katumsiim, meanwhile finished league runners up.

Other teams that featured in the tournament are Senapati FC, Senapati FC Reserve, Royal Rangers FC and Chawang Brothers FC .

The closing ceremony of the tournament was graced by L Dikho, MLA Mao AC as chief guest.

Speaking as the chief guest, MLA Dikho expressed his happiness to see Senapati District improving in the field of football with many football fans.

The MLA urged all to join, support and uplift the big industry to bring change, peace and development in the society.

While Manipur is considered as the powerhouse of sports, Senapati is not lagging behind in the field of sports and especially in football with the support of the District Sports Association and Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur, he noted.

The MLA also encouraged the young footballers to continue their dedication and commitment to promote sports.

While urging the parents of the district, the MLA called upon the elders to invest their wards in football like how people of the region give interest in producing doctors and engineers.

The MLA also lauded the district sports association and SDOAM for bringing such sports facilities to the district.

As Ratung FC and FC Katumsiim emerged the league winners and runners up teams, LT Lowly of Ratung FC, Arun Tamang of FC Katumsiim, and Hiichi of Senapati FC were felicitated with golden ball, golden boot and golden glove awards respectively.
