Riindamkhu SC advance to Chandel 2nd Divn Football tourney quarters

Imphal, September 01 2025: Riindamkhu SC (RSC) cruised into the DC Chandel Trophy 2nd Division Football Tournament quarterfinals with a 4-1 thrashing of Purum Tampak SC (PTSC) today at Sports Complex, Chandel Christian.

The 14-team knock-out tournament is being organised by the District Sports Association, Chandel.

Khular Wangnong starred in the match scoring a brace (10', 54') for the winners while SK Mathutmi (77') and Japhet (89') netted a goal apiece.

The consolation goal for PTSC was scored by Adam in the 58th minute.

The match saw both teams reduced to 10 players each, with PTSC's PR Robert receiving a straight red card in the 12th minute, followed by Rakesh Khular of RSC getting his marching orders in the 57th minute.

RSC will now play Heibunglok YCC, who got a first round bye, in the quarterfinals on September 8 .

Angkhel Chayang YCC will play Tonsen FC in a prequarterfinal match tomorrow morning at Sports Complex, Chandel Christian.
