UVSA beat TBSFA in 6th Sangai Trophy veterans' football tourney

Imphal, May 17 2025: UVSA emerged victorious against TBSFA with a 5-3 win in the 6th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football Championship 2025, held at PAMYAL Ground on Saturday.

The match was decided by a tense penalty shootout after the two sides remained deadlocked at 1-1 following regulation time.

UVSA held their nerve in the shootout, with successful conversions from Y Santosh, L Randhir, and Y Jotin securing a 3-2 advantage and sealing the win.

Earlier in the game, TBSFA took the lead in the 15th minute through a goal by Md Chaoba.

However, UVSA responded swiftly, as W Probin equalised just four minutes later.

Despite further efforts from both sides, neither could break the 1-1 stalemate, forcing the match into penalties, where UVSA ultimately triumphed.
