Imphal, August 06 2025: Two lifters from the state have been selected to represent India at the upcoming Asian Equipped and Classic Benchpress Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in Hong Kong from October 8 to 12 .

The athletes chosen by Powerlifting India, the national governing body, are Brahmacharimayum Nimi Chanu, who will compete in the junior 69kg category, and Thangjam Leima Chanu, selected for the Senior 76kg category.

The All Manipur Powerlifting Association extended its congratulations to both lifters and expressed confidence in their potential to bring laurels to the country on the continental stage.
