Six boxers advance to finals at 3rd IW District Boxing Chip

Imphal, May 16 2025: One elite men's boxer and five young pugilists from the U-15 and U-17 categories advanced to the finals of the 3rd Imphal West District Boxing Championship 2025 after winning their semifinal bouts on Friday at the Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

In the elite men's division, Leichombam Lamnganba Mangang (STC-Utlou) progressed to the final without contesting his semifinal bout after his opponent, Jackson Pukhrambam (MKBA), conceded a walkover.

Meanwhile, in the U-17 boys' competition, three boxers triumphed in their semifinal clashes.

Chongtham Arnold (SRBA-A) secured his place in the -54kg final by defeating Sorokhaibam Lanchenba (IND) .

He will now face Salam Diamond (NSA), who overcame Khondram Nongsaba Meitei (PBA) in the other semifinal.

In the -57kg category, Khangchrakpam Mangai (SRBA-A) earned his spot in the final after a victory against Oinam Nganthoiba (IND).

The day also saw two U-15 semifinals, where Waikhom Prithibiraj (SRBA-A) and Lamjingba Yumnam emerged victorious in the -58kg division.

Prithibiraj defeated Khamnam Rojesh (IND), while Yumnam triumphed over Sapam Mangalsana (IND), setting up a title clash.
