AMFA hails state players as India qualify for AFC Women's Asia Cup

Imphal, July 06 2025:
The All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) on Sunday expressed pride that 10 players from Manipur were part of the 23-member Indian squad that secured qualification for the AFC Women's Asia Cup 2026 � marking the country 's return to the continental stage after 18 years.
The landmark achievement was sealed with a 2-1 victory over Thailand in the final Group B match held in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The state players who featured in the 23-member squad are Elangbam Panthoi Chanu, Ngangbam Sweety Devi, Phanjoubam Nirmala Devi, Hemam Shilky Devi, Nongmaithem Ratanbala Devi, Dangmei Grace, Sorokhaibam Ranjana Chanu, Thokchom Martina, Lynda Kom Serto, and Moirangthem Monalisa Devi - all of whom played vital roles in India's successful campaign.
AMFA extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire team, while offering special commendation to the 10 players from Manipur.
The state players are scheduled to arrive at Imphal Airport on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 1:15 pm .
