Sr WFL: Martina's treble leads YWC to 5-2 victory over MUFA

Imphal, May 17 2025: Thounaojam Martina starred with a hat-trick as Youth Welfare Club (YWC) outscored MUFA 5-2 in Saturday's fixtures of the 15th AMFA Senior Women's Football League.

Martina took centre stage, netting three quickfire goals to put YWC firmly in control.

She broke the deadlock in the 27th minute, doubled the lead just two minutes later, and completed her treble in the 38th minute with a clinical finish.

MUFA fought back before half-time, with Yaiphabi Thokchom pulling one back in the 43rd minute before a teammate further reduced the deficit in the 46th minute.

However, YWC reasserted their dominance in the second half as Leikangbam Russia Chanu struck twice - first in the 61st minute, then again in the 65th - to seal an emphatic 5-2 win.

In the day's other fixture, ESU and Young Welfare Club played out a tightly contested goalless draw, with both sides forced to settle for a point.
